Kazakhstan-China Forum: Investment Cooperation Insights

On June 17, the "China-Central Asia" Industrial and Investment Cooperation Forum, co-sponsored by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan, Kazakh Invest, and representatives of government departments and enterprises from Central Asian countries and China, was successfully held in Astana, Kazakhstan. As a Member of the Chinese enterprise delegation, IBI was invited to attend the forum.

First Deputy Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Sklyar, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan Kuantyrov, and Deputy Director of the National Development and Reform Commission of China Zhou Haibing delivered speeches. They emphasized the importance of deepening industrial and investment cooperation between China and Central Asian countries, and put forward prospects for the future development of regional economic integration.

The forum focused on in-depth discussions on regional cooperation and economic development, focusing on deepening the linkage between regional logistics and infrastructure, promoting the construction of industrial parks and free economic zones, giving full play to the leading role of Chinese investment capital in the processing and manufacturing industry, exploring innovative models of supply chain digitalization and cross-border trade, promoting the development of green technology and sustainable investment, and optimizing the cooperation mechanism and policy support for small and medium-sized enterprises in China and Kazakhstan, providing a platform for practical cooperation and exchange for all parties.

During the forum, IBI and relevant government units, enterprise associations and industrial chain and supply chain enterprises of Kazakhstan made relevant cooperation and matching, focusing on the construction of logistics system in the Kazakhstan market, the optimization of international transportation channels, cross-border e-commerce cooperation and joint investment projects. As an important node country in the Belt and Road Initiative, Kazakhstan and China have made remarkable progress in cross-border logistics, energy cooperation, and digital economy in recent years, including the regular operation of the China Railway Express, the construction of the Trans-Caspian International Transport Corridor, and investment in green energy projects. Through this exchange, IBI further grasped the latest development direction of China and Kazakhstan in the field of foreign trade policy, industrial investment and digital economy from 2025 to 2030, especially the new opportunities for China-Kazakhstan economic and trade cooperation under the framework of the "Belt and Road", laying a solid foundation for deepening regional cooperation in the future.
